Our company is 20 years old. We exhibit in the major French trade fairs, from the small local stock exchanges of our region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, to the prestigious spaces of the three largest trade fairs in the world: Tucson, Munich and Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines.
Alain Martaud has been collecting for 47 years, and is a geologist, author, expert - particularly with museums - and curator.
Our minerals are very diversified: from the regional mineralogy of France to the novelties of the international market, including rare species and so-called "classic" samples, among others from the 19th century. We regularly supply several museums around the world. Our samples are regularly published in international journals.
Our expertise in earth sciences is at the service of your collection.
For the confined exhibitors show in November we have some novelties, we exhumed some more good samples from our "old reserves" and we continue to bring out some samples from our personal collection! Good discovery...

Magnificent "floating" cube discovered in January 2021 by Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet. Transparency, zonation, malachite: everything is attriting in this rare specimen! 3,5 x 2,4 x 3,2 cm. Reference : 0166-AMM
Spectacular sheaf of quartz from this famous Savoyard deposit. The largest crystal presents the famous white opalescence of clay inclusions of the Smectite or palygorskyte type. 8,6 x 5 x 9,6 cm. Reference : 0168-AMM
On baryte blades with sparse chalcopyrites, a beautiful cube of yellow-brown fluorite with a discreet light blue edging stands out. This cube is very smooth and gem-like on the edges and very corroded in the centre of the faces: rare and magnificent. A discovery by J.P.Averous and Vivien Leydet....
Light blue transparent fluorite cubes are arranged on baryte slides, enhanced on one side by chalcopyrite and on the other by a ball of malachite. Typical of the discovery of Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet. 8 x 3,1 x 5,2 cm. Reference : 0171-AMM
On barite slides a beautiful cube of colourless and very transparent fluorite is enhanced on one side by chalcopyrite and on the other by a sheaf of malachite. Typical of the discovery of Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet in January 2021. 5,5 x 3,6 x 3,5 cm. Reference : 0172-AMM
Floating specimen composed of three very transparent cubes, yellow in the heart and light blue on the outside. The inclusions are absolutely ideal for a photographer. A discovery by Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet. 3,3 x 2,4 x 2,1 cm. Reference : 0173-AMM
Superb floating cube with chalcopyrite inclusions. It has a very marked yellow, blue and colourless zonation. Strange phenomena are visible inside, probably due to dissolution. A connoisseur's specimen discovered by Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet. 3,4 x 2,4 x 2,6 cm. Reference : 0174-AMM
Another facies of the Font d' Arques fluorites: yellow and blue zoned cubes, partially covered with beige calcite crystals and always figures of dissolution, brecciation breaks ...a discovery by Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet. 7 x 3,2 x 6 cm. Reference : 0177-AMM
A classic among the rare fluorites of Font d'Arques: satiny masses of light blue fluorite corresponding to large crystals of optical quality under their corroded surface ... a discovery by Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet. 8,1 x 3,3 x 4,8 cm. Reference : 0178-AMM
Pretty little light blue cube with a white baryte crest and small sparkling orange quartzes. The edges are sharp but there are already visible grooves of disolution. A discovery by Jean-Pierre Averous and Vivien Leydet 2,6 x 2,2 x 2,7 cm. Reference : 0179-AMM
Spectacular example of a "gwindel"; rare smoky quartz facies consisting of a group of biterminated crystals that pile up with several degrees of rotation! A crystalline marvel of nature . 8,5 x 4,6 x 6,7 cm. Reference : 0180-AMM
A magnificent miniature biterminated crystal (1.7 cm) enhanced by a pyrite crystal is placed on a saccharoid gypsum gangue. Harvested by Caroline Martaud in the underground maze of these gypsum mines. The quality of transparency and the incredible brilliance of Arignac's crystals is not a legend:...
Here is a very curious and pretty crystal of this complex silicate known to contain lithium. Specialists will notice the typical monoclinic morphology: in short, a crystallographic model that is totally gem-like! 6,4 x 0,5 x 0,7 cm. Reference : 0183-AMM
Yellow cubes pleasantly placed on a siderite carpet in brown milk chocolate rosettes. The archetypal specimen from the Peyrebrune mine, which was mined for zinc until 1971. The sample dates from this period... Not to be missed... 9,2 x 6,5 x 2 cm. Reference : 0186-AMM
Quartz hedges coloured by thick crusts of "iron oxides" on top of which green micro crystals of malachite, intense blue crystals of azurite and a yellow ochre crust make up an astonishing palette. This sample perfectly combines technique and aesthetics. 6,4 x 5,1 x 4,9 cm. Reference : 0188-AMM
