Fluorite and quartz - Peyrebrune, Tarn, France
Crystal of golden yellow fluorite, translucent, with brilliant surfaces. The main edge presents an unfortunate shock but this piece is interesting for many other more technical aspects: the top is truncated in triple point, the quartz follow a preferential direction corresponding to the edge lines of the fluorite having crystallized in relief with respect to the main crystal; finally, inside the crystal, one notes microcrystals of chalcopyrite which follow a very fine border of brown growth
