Pyrite octahedral with chamfered edges - Huanzala Mine, Huallanca, Peru
A sensational quality of Pyrite !!! The edges of the octahedrons are chamfered and the brilliance of the facets is just exceptional. Some of the Pyrites found in this pocket are associated with Sphalerite, Rock Crystal and sometimes small Galena crystallised in balls and "laid" on the facets. As always, Pyrite is difficult to photograph, and the rendering does not do them justice. Mineralogy TOP !
