Hexagonal calcite - Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Colorless hexagonal calcite with relatively thick petals and shiny surfaces, from a recent discovery in the large Ojuela mine in Mexico. Colorless lamellae of hemimorphite are also present, sometimes arranged in sprays, as well as very shiny gray/brown microcrystals agglomerated in spherules that can also be individualized in small rhombohedrons (supposed smithsonite, analysis to come), all on goethite and limonite. Piece of interesting composition.
10 x 8 x 5,5 cm.
