Hexagonal calcite - Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Colorless hexagonal calcite with relatively thick petals and shiny surfaces, from a recent discovery in the large Ojuela mine in Mexico. Colorless lamellae of hemimorphite and very bright gray/brown microcrystals in small rhombohedrons (supposed smithsonite, analysis to come) are also present, all on goethite and limonite.
