Fluorite antozonite, calcite - Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
A beautiful deep purple antozonite fluorite in essentially good condition from the recent (early 2021) discovery of a small single pocket on the 4th level of the large Ojuela mine in Mexico.
The surfaces are bright and show (natural) dissolution patterns. The fluorite, on a limonite gangue, has been freed from a white calcite crust of which some remnants remain, giving a nice contrast to the piece.
Fluorite is rare for this mine, especially the "good" size pieces well crystallized !
10,5 x 6 x 6 cm.
