Azurite psm tetrahedrite and quartz - Mine à Giraud (La Gardette), Isère, France
Exceptional specimen composed of bright hyaline quartz needles (some with the typical Dauphiné habit) and several well-shapedtetrahedrite crystals, pseudomorphosed (or even perimorphosed) into azurite of a superb royal blue. Some iron oxides and malachite are also present, especially in the covering of the zone where quartz is naturally missing. This piece comes from the Giraud mine, close to the famous La Gardette mine, known worldwide for its gold and especially the quality of its quartz. The combination of tetrahedrite and azurite is very unusual and therefore extremely rare on the market.
