Azurite psm tetrahedrite and quartz - Mine à Giraud (La Gardette), Isère, France
Exceptional specimen composed of several pseudomorphosed (or even perimorphosed) tetrahedrite crystals in azurite of a superb royal blue and sparkling in places, accompanied by malachite, iron oxides, and lustrous quartz needles, of which a main one is double ended. The largest visible tetrahedrite crystal measures 1 cm in edge, but the base is presumably made of a much larger crystal (about 2cm). This piece comes from the Giraud mine, close to the famous La Gardette mine, known worldwide for its gold and especially the quality of its quartz. The combination of tetrahedrite and azurite is very unusual and therefore extremely rare on the market.
5,5 x 3,5 x 4 cm.
