Pyrite and hematite - Rio Marina, Elba island, Tuscany, Italy
Pyrite crystals in irregular dodecahedra (pyritohedra) set in a matrix of lamellar hematite. The pyrite is not very bright but the crystals are of good size (up to 4 cm) and in good condition. Antique piece dating from before the 1980's.
