Pyrite and hematite - Valle Giove mine, Rio Marina, Elba island, Tuscany, Italy
Superb dodecahedral pyrite crystal of great brilliance, incomplete on the back but intact, accompanied by some hematite flakes. Piece resulting from a relatively recent discovery (2013) and unique, dedicated to finance the rehabilitation of the mining park of the island of Elba. This park can now be visited and the collection of samples is forbidden, except, in principle, during supervised visits.
