Hematite psm magnetite - Payún Matrú volcano, Mendoza, Argentina
Magnetite pseudomorphosed into hematite, from the Payún Matrú volcano in Argentina, presenting on one hand an octahedral crystal and on the other hand an elongated crystal with a "skeletal" structure. Hematite can be distinguished in two forms: the pseudomorphosis itself, red in color, and, on the surface, small gray flakes with a metallic luster. Very aesthetic floating specimen and of very beautiful quality.
