Zunyite on hematite - Qalat-e Balat, Hormozgan, Persia/Iran
Rare zunyite on hematite gangue. The main crystal, of 0.9 cm of edge, and of reddish-brown color (sought after), presents truncated edges. The visible face is rather shiny and shows asperities as well as a natural crack, not through, thus without risk of breakage. The specimens on matrix are rarer than the isolated crystals because these generally do not hold in place on the hematite gangue. These Iranian zunyites were discovered in 2018 and have the particularity of being plurimillimetric, even centimetric, which is large for the species.
