Fluorite - Cave-in-Rock district, Illinois, USA
Fluorite almost floating with a violet core followed by light blue and then violet again, underlined by a thin dark purple border. The surfaces, scattered with small chalcopyrite crystals, are bright and show curious rectangular growth patterns. They are also speckled with small sub-triangular dark purple "spots", probably related to old chalcopyrite crystal locations. The surfaces, edges and vertices of the main cubes are in very good condition.
