Polyhedral agate - Paraiba, Brésil
A polished slice of polyhedral agate, which can be appreciated as such for collecting or mounted as a pendant. Polyhedral agates were discovered in the 1970s in the Brazilian state of Paraíba. They were formed by the complete or partial filling of polyhedral cavities, interpreted as the space between undetermined ancient crystals, often assumed to be calcite (see Le Règne Minéral n°163).
