A rare doubly terminated hanksite crystal—a complex sulfate currently found at only one deposit in the world! This mineral is sensitive to moisture and requires proper storage (e.g., an airtight container; note the oil coating on the specimen).
This piece comes from the Searles Lake deposits in the San Bernardino region of California, USA.
It measures 3 x 2.4 x 1.8 cm.
