Specimen from the Mâlain mine in Burgundy, France, featuring a salmon-colored gypsum nodule.
This mine—now closed to access—contains rare nodule formations embedded in clayey marl.
The nodules were painstakingly extracted from the surrounding matrix, then polished and varnished.
Dimensions: 7.3 x 6.4 x 3.7 cm
