A well-developed glendonite forming a star-shaped aggregate, displaying beautifully on a spherical rock concretion. It is the result of the pseudomorphosis of ikaite into calcite; the term "glendonite" specifically refers to this type of pseudomorph.
This mineral was discovered at Solenitsa, in the Karelia region of Russia.
Dimensions: 5.4 x 5.5 x 5.7 cm.
The specimen weighs 210 grams.
