Hexagonal calcite - Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Colorless hexagonal calcite with relatively thick petals and shiny surfaces, from a recent discovery in the large Ojuela mine in Mexico. Colorless lamellae of hemimorphite are also present, as well as very shiny gray/brown microcrystals in small rhombohedrons (supposed smithsonite, analysis to come), all on goethite and limonite. Some shocks on this piece crystallized on both sides.
