Calcite and hemimorphite - Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Colorless calcite with petals and shiny surfaces, from a recent discovery in the large Ojuela mine in Mexico. Colorless lamellae of hemimorphite are also present, sometimes arranged in sprays, as well as very shiny gray/brown microcrystals agglomerated in spherules (supposed smithsonite, analysis to come), all on small stalactites of goethite and a limonite gangue. A few small bumps on this piece crystallized on both sides.
