Pyrite and hematite - Valle Giove mine, Rio Marina, Elba island, Tuscany, Italy
Dodecahedral crystal of pyrite, not very bright but well formed and intact, on a matrix of lamellar hematite. This piece is the result of a relatively recent (2013) and unique discovery, dedicated to finance the rehabilitation of the mining park of the island of Elba. This park can now be visited and the collection of samples is prohibited, except, a priori quickly, during supervised visits.
