Pyrite and hematite - Valle Giove mine, Rio Marina, Elba island, Tuscany, Italy
Superb group of dodecahedral crystals of very bright pyrite, on a matrix of lamellar hematite. A relatively recent (2013) and unique find, dedicated to financing the rehabilitation of the Elba mining park. Today, the park is open to visitors, but it is forbidden to collect samples, except on guided tours, which are expected to take place very soon.
