This specimen comes from the largest open pit and the largest artificial hole in the world with 2000 meters in diameter and 762 meters deep: the Palabora mine in South Africa. Very large crystals of intact mesolitis and an immaculate white color on translucent apophyllite. There are also micro apophyllite crystals that recrystallized on the mesolite to give it an incredible shine.
