FLUORITE - Camissinone mine, Zogno, Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy
Sublime Fluorite from Zogno in Italy, very rare due to its double crystallization and size! Indeed, in the first generation we have a crystallization in rhombododecahedron which underwent a dissolution, then came in the second generation this cubic crystallization. These Zogno pieces require a backlight to be able to see the color. If you use a cold light, the color will come out dark blue, or a warm light the color will be dark purple. These specimens also have the particularity of being fluorescent, but by flash fluorescence. That is to say, with long UV rays, the color will be intense red, but this one will fade little by little to disappear on its own. Just wait a while, then renew the UV to see this red color again.
