This superb specimen is also a technical feat. The Hematite, which was originally the matrix, has been completely replaced by Rutile crystals in a solid meshed network of sparkling needles. There was a complete perimorphosis of the Hematite by the Rutile. Over this cluster of crystals, a second generation of red Rutile crystals later developed, scattered on the gangue, but also a second generation of Hematite present in crystals with a metallic sheen. Unusual specimen, extremely rare, from Madagascar.
