QUARTZ on FLUORITE - Maxonchamp, Rupt-sur-Moselle, Epinal, Vosges, Grand Est, France
This specimen combines quartz and purple fluorite directly from the classical deposit of Maxonchamp in Rupt-sur-Moselle, in the Vosges mountains in France. The piece is in the form of an imposing plate, whose entire main face is lined with a multitude of very shiny quartz crystals. It has an elegant honey yellow to amber color, bright and warm. The slice of the mineral clearly reveals the geological paragenesis of the site, revealing the original cubes of purple fluorite on which the quartz came to grow. A voluminous piece, very decorative and highly representative of classical Vosges mineralogy.
