RHODOCHROSITE - Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie, Quebec, Canada
This specimen honors the Rhodochrosite coming directly from the famous Poudrette quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire, in Canada, a location of global importance for collectors. The piece is characterized by an elongated plate shape offering a magnificent visual harmony. Its honeycombed surface is lined with a white immaculate microcrystalline matrix, from which many areas and crystals of rhodochrosite emerge in a fuchsia to candy pink hue of exceptional liveliness. The marked contrast between the whiteness of the gangue and the intensity of the pink concentrations creates a very graphic relief under the light. A sample of aesthetic and historical showcase, which has become untraceable following the permanent cessation of collections on this exceptional site.
