STIBNITE and QUARTZ - Dahu Mine, Lubilhac, Brioude, Haute-Loire, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France
This specimen combines the Stibnite and the Quartz, coming directly from the famous and historic mine of the Dahu in Lubilhac, located near Brioude in the Haute-Loire in France. The piece stands out for its superb vertical dynamic, featuring a powerful group of prismatic and acicular stibin crystals, arranged in an open sheaf. These crystals display strongly striated longitudinal faces, typical of the deposit, as well as an intense steel-gray metallic sheen that reacts superbly to light. They emerge from a matrix of matte microcrystalline white quartz, offering an ideal contrast of textures and hues. A remarkable showcase piece, from a great classic of French mineralogy now completely inaccessible in the field.
