This specimen combines the Realgar and the Jamesonite from the famous and historical mine of Baia Sprie in Romania. The part consists of a dense and heavy matrix of massive jamesonite with a matte lead-gray metallic luster, dotted with a cluster of micro-crystals. Its main face is beautifully studded with many small realgar crystals of an intense orange-red color, creating a striking two-tone color contrast. A very complete and highly representative 310-gram cabinet sample of the complex hydrothermal veins of this mythical European locality, now permanently inaccessible in the field.
