BRAZILIANITE on ALBITE - Corrego Frio mine, Linopolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil
This specimen combines the Brazilianite and the Albite directly from the mythical mine of Corrego Frio in Linopolis, in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil, the global type locality for this rare mineral species. The room is organized on a geometric white albite plate, healthy and well structured. On one of its flanks stands out a very aesthetic tangle of crystals of brazilianite of a bright yellow-green chartreuse color. These crystals reveal a beautiful translucency and a pronounced vitreous sheen under the light. The marked contrast between the immaculate whiteness of the feldspathic matrix and the bright hue of this rare phosphate makes it an excellent collector s item, highly representative of this historical deposit.
