HUBNERITE and QUARTZ - Pasto Bueno, Pampas, Pallasca, Ancash, Peru
This specimen combines the crystallized Hubnerite and Quartz, coming directly from the famous mining district of Pasto Bueno in Peru, the absolute reference for this species. The piece revolves around a powerful beam of prismatic crystals of hubnerite standing in a sheaf. In a deep jet black, these crystals display strongly striated faces with an intense sub-metallic sheen. Under a bright light, their edges reveal splendid and discreet internal red-blood reflections characteristic of the manganiferous pole of this site. The sulfides are harmoniously associated with a group of white quartz crystals translucent, whose well-defined geometric points isolate the dark prisms and create a striking relief. A small cabinet piece, very graphic, elegant and with superb verticality for a neat presentation.
