CHALCOPYRITE and SIDERITE - Kaiwu Mine, Hezhang, Bijie, Guizhou, China
This specimen highlights the aesthetic association between Chalcopyrite and Siderite, coming directly from the famous Kaiwu mine in Hezhang, Guizhou province, China. The piece is characterized by a particularly balanced two-tone distribution. One side of the mineral hosts a crystallized cluster of chalcopyrite with a remarkable natural iridescence, displaying purple, violet and golden hues of great intensity. The other side reveals large honey-coloured siderite crystals, whose clarity and vitreous luster offer an excellent counterpoint to the metallic structure of the sulphides. A compact and bright room, ideal to add a touch of vibrant color and a beautiful geometric dynamic to a showcase collection.
