CERUSSITE and GALENA - Touissit, Jerada, Morocco
This specimen combines Cerussite and Galena from the famous mining district of Touissit, in the province of Jerada in Morocco. The piece is crowned by a remarkable geometric and translucent cerussite crystal, displaying an elegant champagne hue with beige highlights. Perfectly clear at the top of the room, it reveals an intense diamond shine and intact faces. This major crystal emerges from a dense carpet of micro-crystallizations of brown cerusite and oxides, creating a very beautiful textured relief. The whole is based on a solid solid gray-steel gangue, giving this piece of showcase an exceptional density of 240 grams for a very compact template. A great Moroccan classic, from a major historical locality.
