JAMESONITE and REALGAR - Baia Sprie, Maramures, Romania
This specimen combines the Realgar and the Jamesonite from the famous mine of Baia Sprie in Romania. The piece stands out for its strong visual impact and the richness of its mineralization. Its main face has many natural cavities entirely lined with realgar crystals of an intense carmine red color. These crystals develop geometric faces with particularly bright vitreous luster, playing superbly with light. They are intimately associated with a massive matrix of lead-gray jamesonite with a sub-metallic luster, whose compactness gives this cabinet a weight of 360 grams. A sample of first choice, very colored and textured, essential to represent the complexity of this great European classic today unfindable.
