CERUSSSITE - Mfouati Mine, Bouenza, Congo
This specimen highlights a beautiful variety of habitus for the Cerussite, coming from the famous mine of Mfouati in the department of Bouenza in the Republic of Congo. The room is distinguished by its highly architectural and three-dimensional structure. It forms a large honeycomb matrix whose interior cavities are richly lined with cristaux of tabular cross-crossing cerussite. These crystals have a creamy-white color with discreet yellow-sulfur shades, combined with a beautiful greasy shine. The open geode development interacts superbly with light and contrasts with its original brown matrix. A large, robust cabinet part with a high density of 630 grams, ideal to illustrate the crystallographic complexity of this great African classic.
